Research Scientist, CytoAstra LLC, Little Rock, Ar, USA Safi Ullah is a Medical Research Scientist. He currently serves as a Research Scientist at CytoAstra LLC, a role where he merges his expertise in engineering with his passion for healthcare innovation. At CytoAstra, he is part of a visionary team developing a cutting-edge medical device. Specifically, Safi focuses on utilizing photoacoustic flow cytometry to detect circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in human blood, with a particular emphasis on melanoma detection. This groundbreaking technology promises non-invasive early detection and monitoring of melanoma, a significant advancement in cancer diagnostics. He was formerly Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at UAMS where he led research studies at the Orthopedic Biomechanics Research Lab. His investigations spanned a range of orthopedic conditions, from lumbar spinal stenosis to total hip arthroplasty, demonstrating his commitment to advancing musculoskeletal healthcare. Safi Ullah graduated with a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, specializing in control systems and statistical signal processing in 2021.
